If you want the look for off road it has to be done in fiberglass. The preferred choice for light weight and durability. We will cover mounting techniques in this page using Autofab Fender Mounts.
The above 2 pictures show our bulged 73-9 front fenders using 5 Autofab fender mounts.
Here is the beginning of the frame structure to mount our bedsides. Part # BS305
Rear tube structure for our bedsides. We are using 3/4" tube with solid mounting to the roll cage chassis. The idea here is to save weight and if you crash the truck the structure will just bend a little and is easily straightened or replaced.
Here is the basic skeleton for the rear. Note how main cage structure is kept inboard tight to the frame. Again reducing weight and keeping a good center of gravity. All brackets to the frame are bolted so this truck can be completely taken apart. Being mechanic fabricators we like to design our trucks to be easy to work on.
Below are pictures showing hood pin mounting. We are mounting with 4 pins and eliminating the hinge mounts.
