Humvee Severe Duty Motor Mounts

The Navy first approached us with a motor mount issue they were having with the humvees the Seals were using for training purposes here in San Diego. These guys were brutal and stuffed the Humvees until the engine jumped and tore the stock rubber mounts taking out the radiator, clutch fan and what ever else it could chew up until they stopped. Put that vehicle out of commission in a heart beat. Plus about $2500 in repair bills. We designed our severe duty off road competition motor and transmission mounts for the Humvee.  They are designed to hold the motor transmission like solid mounts yet insulate with ureathane. This eliminates the metal to metal harshness and fatigue problems that eventually occur with metal solid mounts. These mounts fit 6.2 and 6.5 diesel engines and turbo models as well. We have many Navy Seals now trying to break our mounts with no luck!

Note: We found on one unit metric threads in a diesel block that came from AM general with 3/8 bolts instead. Pay attention to this detail if you have that block. We have not been able to find out what year or how long this happened. When we contact AM general they said they only use 3/8 hardware and never heard of a metric block. The metric size is 10mmx150 thread pitch and we stock special metric bolts just for these if you need them. If the bolts you have are 3/8 see if they are loose in the block in the first few threads and then tighten up as you go deeper. Chances are that is a metric hole. If they feel normal all the way then they are probably just fine. A 10mm150 bolt will not thread into a 3/8 hole. A 3/8 bolt WILL thread into a 10mm hole!!! This is very important ! pay attention to your investment here!

The 3 piece mounting kit sells for $500

Please note that it is not recommended to use just the motor mounts. It is necessary to replace the tranny mount as well. The reason for this is you do not want the transmission to move around while the engine mounts are trying to hold it in place. It will work the brackets and eventually break them. Always install the 3 piece kit together as a package.
